You know I fell in love with you the moment we first met. Your cute Barbie-like exterior hiding nerves of steel, your intelligence offset by the adorable little beauty spot on your cheek.
But then things changed, didn’t they? In Black Hole Rising, you started to look different. A little Special Olympics. I’m sorry, that’s cruel, I know you were just trying to improve yourself. And by Dual Strike, you did recover, but it was a fake glamour. The fresh-faced innocence was gone.
I’ve moved on. There’s someone new. Her name is Lin.
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin takes a new direction for a series, both in tone and in presentation. While the game graphics themselves are not much changed (especially when zoomed out), the character artwork is now much more detailed and beautifully rendered. I was worried the game would lose its charm with this “mature” style, but my fears was put aside the minute I started playing. Alright, as soon as I saw the line-up of chicks.
